If you're not happy with the distribution companies' moves to gain further price increases or you're already struggling to pay your electricity bills, then tell us your story by posting a comment in the box below.
the electricity network companies have been given too easy a go by the relevant Regulators. These Regulators including the the Australian Energy Regulator are supposed to be acting on behalf of consumers but they are not. Just look at the the ACCC and the petrol companies.
My electricity supplier, Origin, as I am sure like all the rest, made numerous offers and inducements for me to sign up with them. One inducement being that if I remain with their service for a full 12 months then I would receive one months electricity for free.
Well the twelve months kicked in last November and on my most recent quarterly bill the following items are stated:
Number of Billing Days: 92 Total Electricity Charges: $482.26 Average Cost per Day (inc GST): $5.21
Under Miscellaneous Charges and Adjustments
OneMonthFree Credit: $15.35cr
So my one month FREE is worth less than three days usage.
